How can we avoid accidents?

            It is a sad fact of modern life that in our big cities thousands of men, women, and children die every year in road accidents. Most road-side accidents occur either because of the ignorance of traffic rules or the inability to read and follow the road signs out of carelessness of the road users.Accidents are mostly caused by people. Traffic accidents are the fault of those people who do not care for their fellow human beings. Accidents can be avoided if we follow the following rules.

1. We should always look out for what is going on around us.
2. We should not walk on the road if there is a footpath.
3. We should take care when crossing the road. We should look both ways and keep looking all the way across
4. We should use zebra crossing while crossing the road.
5. We should drive on the left and lane except when overtaking

We can avoid accidents if we drive more slowly, look around us and take notice of the effects of our actions on others if we, as a whole, have more traffic sense, all of us will be much safer on the road.
