Allama Iqbal

Allama Iqbal was born in Sialkot, a city in Pakistan in November 1877. He got his education from well-known educational institutions. After receiving their education, he became a lecturer at Oriental College. He was now a poet, philosopher, and teacher too. The most important achievements of Iqbal were: He raised his voice for the cause of the Muslims of India when they were under British control and were part of the British colony. He emphasized promoting education and other social problems highlighted him like unemployment and trade deficit. He was the one who gave the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of India in 1930 and based on his ideas Muslims of India got Independence. He wrote poetry in Urdu and Persian, but he is thought to be the greatest Urdu poet of the 20th Century. His poetry serves as a reminder of the past glories of Islam.
