Role of Media

The media is a source of information. It plays a vital role in building public opinion. It creates awareness among the common people about the prevailing situation of the country.

Media is of two kinds

Print media, electronic Media

Newspapers, journals, magazines, periodicals, etc are included in print media. Radio, television, the internet, etc are known as electronic media. Both Media play an important role in our lives. Everybody looks toward them to know about the country in particular and the world in general. The influence of media is not limited to the educated class of society, it also influences the uneducated people.

The last few years had been revolutionary in electronic media. A flood of private channels had emerged. There is a trend of opening news channels. Electronic media is the most powerful tool now a day. People of all ages are influenced by it. Media educates people. A man in the street has his own opinion. Especially in Pakistan, there is a trend of political debates on news channels. It has created awareness among the people of Pakistan. They, now have their views about the performance of the government. Nowadays, we can watch live coverage of important events in the world.    

The Internet is of great importance in the world emerged as a new power. Print media as well as electronic media, both are available on the Internet.

Media has revolutionized our lives. It has facilitated our lives in many ways. Though there are some negative impacts, it depends on as that we use it positively or negatively.
