Smuggling

Smuggling means exporting or importing goods across the borders of the country without the permission of the government as well as without paying customs duties. At times, produce in one country is cheaper than it in another country. The smugglers come forward and smuggle this cheap item to a country where it is sold at a very high price. Usually, there is a certain restriction on the transfer of such items, but the smuggler jeopardizes and carries on their illegal activities ignoring the laws of the country.          There are many causes of smuggling.

Firstly, people want to earn more and more. The desire urges them to do such kinds of acts.

Secondly, unemployment is another reason. People do not find legal ways of earning. Therefore they involve in such activities.

Thirdly, smuggling has now become a very organized business. The ratio of earning money is very high as compared to legal business. The desire to become rich overnight can only be fulfilled through smuggling.

A developing country like Pakistan cannot afford to neglect this monstrous problem which undermines the very roots of our national economy. Smuggling is very harmful to society. There is a need to educate the masses to avoid buying smuggled things. We all can end the evil of smuggling by cooperation with law enforcement, agencies, and the general public.
