Over Population

Overpopulation is an undesirable condition where the number of the existing human population exceeds the actual carrying capacity of Earth. Overpopulation is caused by several factors. Reduced mortality rate, better medical facilities, and depletion of precious resources are few of the causes which result in overpopulation. A sparsely populated area can become densely populated if it is not able to sustain life.

The rapid increase in the population is the most serious problem in the world today. It causes many problems like shortage of food and accommodation, lack of educational facilities, unemployment, etc.

In Pakistan, the problem of overpopulation is very acute. The growth rate of the population is very high compared to the rate of economic development. To solve this problem, we should increase production through better planning and management. The most important is to develop the industrial and the agricultural sectors. We need to explore new markets for our products and increase our exports by introducing better quality of our products.

The idea of family planning should be promoted among the masses. Early marriages and polygamy should be discouraged. The health sector needs to be improved and all possible resources should be utilized to guide the people. General awareness should be created among the people. The media can play the best role in this respect.

 However, developing nations face the problem of overpopulation more than developed countries, but it affects most of the Earth as of now.
