Types of mixture:

Heterogeneous mixture:

A mixture that consists of two or more visible different components is called a heterogeneous mixture.

Examples:

Sand + salt, oil floating on water etc.

Homogeneous mixture:

A mixture consists of only one phase is called a homogeneous mixture.

Examples:

Sugar mixed in water; salt dissolved in water. Homogeneous mixtures also have uniform composition throughout.

Note: In fact, the entire physical world is made up of mixture of elements and compounds. Most of its components are made up of molecules.
