Since this belief was threatening their dominance in the society, the pagan Arabs started to mount pressure on the Holy Prophet P.B.U.H and his followers. They wanted to renounce their cause and take to idol-worshipping. On one occasion, they sent a delegation to the Holy Prophet’s P.B.U.H kind and caring uncle, Abu Talib. They told him to restrain the Holy Prophet P.B.U.H from preaching Allah Almighty’s message or face their enmity. Finding himself in a a dilemma, he sent for his nephew, and explained to him the situation. The Holy Prophet answered with these memorable words:
“My dear uncle, if they put my sun in right hand and the moon in my left, even then I shall not abandon the proclamation of the Oneness of God (Tauheed). I shall set up the true faith upon the Earth or perish in the attempt.
چونکہ یہ عقیدہ معاشرے میں ان کے غلبے کے لیے خطرہ پیدا کر رہا تھا۔ کفار عرب نے حضور نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان کے پیروکاروں پر دباؤ بڑھانا شروع کر دیا۔ وہ چاہتے تھے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اپنے اولین مقصد کو چھوڑ کر بت پرستی اختیار کر لیں۔ ایک موقع پر، انہوں نے حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پیارے چچا ابو طالب رضی اللہ عنہ کی طرف ایک وفد بھیجا۔ انہوں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے کہا کہ حضور نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو اللہ تعالی کے پیغام کی تبلیغ سے روکیں یا پھر ان کا سامنا کریں۔ خود کو مشکل صورتحال میں دیکھ کر انھوں نے اپنے بھتیجے کو پیغام بھیجا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو تمام معاملہ کی وضاحت کی۔ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان یادگار الفاظ کے ساتھ جواب دیا۔
"میرے پیارے چچا جان اگر وہ میرے دائیں ہاتھ میں سورج اور بائیں ہاتھ میں چاند رکھ دیں تب بھی میں خدا کی وحدانیت کے اعلان کو ترک نہیں کرونگا میں زمین پر عقیدہ برحق کو قائم کرو گا یا اس کوشش میں ختم ہو جاؤں گا۔"
