Whose woods these are I think I know
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods, fill up with snow.
Translation

The poet has stopped near the snowy woods. He first wonders who owns these woods. In the same breath, he tells that he thinks he does know who owns them. The owner of the woods lives in the house in the village. He would not come to watch his woods. So, he would not get into trouble for trespassing on his land.
